Description
An image of a crowd of people watching as firemen attempt to put out a huge fire at the Imperial Hotel on Main Street from in front of City Hall on the opposite side of the street. Pictured are a City Waterworks truck in the foreground, firemen climbing a tall ladder to direct the hoses, and smoke against the night sky. Also pictured is the Volunteer Monument, which commemorates the men of the 90th Winnipeg Battalion who were killed in the North West Rebellion of 1885 at the Battle of Fish Creek and the Battle of Batoche.
